Does Marvin Harrison havta choke a bitch?

Apparently, my 3rd favorite wide receiver (behind only T.O. and Hines Ward) isn't as mild mannered as he appears. At least that's what some kids in California want a jury to believe. The lawsuit alleges Marvin Harrison "physically attacked" the boys and placed a "potentially deadly choke hold" on one of them. I'm not buying it. Then again there was a time when everyone believed Kobe "GM" Bryant only f*cked over his teammates. So who knows?

Question for Bethel: why does the Panthers punter need steroids? I don't think this steroids story taints the Panthers '03 season but it certainly raises some credibility questions. And before B responds with the allegations against the 70s Steelers, there's one big difference between them. During the Super Steelers run, steroids were still legal in the U.S. and had not been banned by the NFL yet. The Kitties, on other hand, knew it was illegal and banned by the league.

But the news isn't all bad for B. I guess congratulations are in order for Bethel on his engagement. I only ask that you not become as whipped as Hellinger - has anyone seen/heard from Tim since his wedding? Don't make me order you a Doug Christie jersey like the one I just ordered for Tim. Seriously, conrgats B (and I will order a Christie jersey for you if necessary).

In other news

I guess we can dream it's over now.

(Yes, I'm going to hell.)

So what did I miss this weekend?

From what it sounded like on TV and in the 20 drunken voicemails I received, I missed quite the weekend. I'm probably the only person in this group who missed BOTH a) all of this weekend's tournament games and b) drunkfest '05 in Winston. You read that last sentence correctly, I didn't see either of the Louisville or Illinois comebacks (not even highlights) nor did I see the UNC or Kentucky games. So I have nothing say about those games except the following:

I hate Carolina. Congrats to Cullen and D but I hate your fucking school. As far I'm concerned they can eat shit and die. Hopefully, the Roy formula for success (failure) will continue to work as did at Kansas. Outstanding rosters + underachieving in big games = 0 titles.

I'm eating crow for calling Clark Kellogg an idiot last weekend when he picked MSU in the Final Four. Though he's still an idiot.

"Fire Tubby Smith!" I can already hear the riots in Lexington. But without Tubby they wouldn't have made it as far as they did. MSU was running away with it in the 2nd half until Tubby made some key lineup changes to prompt the comeback and OT. Clapp, for your sanity's sake, I only hope you didnt watch the game with Jeremy.

For all questionable calls that seem to work out in Duke's favor, there was one very suspicious play call in UNC's favor in the Wisconsin game. Can someone please tell where that Wisconsin kid walked with 10 seconds left after potentially tying the game? Anyone? Buehler? Buehler?
Ridiculous call that made me wonder if Dean Smith was coaching the team again.

Did I mention how much I hate UNC?

What else did I miss in W-S?

Joey...UDAMAN!!!

Joey, the blog is great. I had to watch the Wake loss in West Virginia while I was working in Ohio last week. I barely made it out of there alive.

"Let's get crazy" Posted by Hello

Pat O'Brien's One Shining Moment

Just in time for the Final Four, the first sideline reporter I ever remember is in the news. Mr. Final Four (not Billy Packer) turned Hollywood Insider checked himself into rehab this week for drug and alcohol abuse. Apparently, ol' Pat is quite the party animal. In some released voice emails, Pat "expressed a taste for hookers, cocaine and adventurous (if possibly unhygienic) sex". I love how he would interact with his black co-workers.

"He also allegedly offended two African-American employees when he walked into a makeup room and greeted them with, "What's up, my n——s!" Could it be O'Brien feels that he's down with the bruthas because he once appeared in a P. Diddy video?"

Oh, and did I mention he's a horny old man? Many of us have tried drunken booty calls but Pat takes booty calls to another level. "Let's have [bleep]ing sex and drugs and just go crazy," the voice says in one of three messages, most of which is repetitive and unprintably graphic. "You're [bleep]ing sexy, I want to go crazy with you. I want to [bleep] your [bleep] and get crazy."

I hate to kick a man when he's down but this shit is too funny.

Football

i will try and join yous guys fantasy football next season. Heard that Jav had the best team was the Champ last season?

JB

Vandy - Wichita St

I saw highlights. That was a crappy ending (I was pulling for the shockers). Turgeon is a helluva coach. He'll be in a major conference in 2-3 seasons. He turned around Wichita State very quickly. They should have made the tourney, except for a few key losses late in the season. That last second play was crazy. Dickson, were you at the game?

You want gay, Jav? This is Bishop's new logo. What is that supposed to be? The Rock wearing a bandana around his mouth? you be the judge.Y Posted by Hello

A few comments

  • Wow! I never saw a gay comment coming from Jav. Anyone else notice that it's always Jav who makes the gay jokes. Maybe he's still reeling from the ol' reach around Kansas and Wake gave him over the weekend, so I'll let it slide. Hey Jav, there's always Vandy. Speaking of which...
  • Lost in the boring tournament games, I saw maybe the greatest game I've ever seen on Monday. Vanderbilt & Wichita St in the NIT. Unbelievable ending. Vandy won it on a full court heave and layup (yes, layup) at the buzzer with only .7 seconds left. Everything before it was pretty damn amazing. Vandy tried to give it away by allowing WSU to tie the game off an intentionally missed FT and squandering a 13 point 2nd half lead. The highlights are on ESPN.com.
  • Cullen, it's official. I have joined the Xbox nation. Call me if you're interested in playin some Halo 2, Madden, NCAA Football/Top Spin or Fifa (don't ask). That's all I got.
  • Does anyone know Cassidy's email? Or did he finally give in and go back to Frail without telling us? Now that Mollie is working for NASCAR, I figure it's only a matter of time.
  • I'm not coming home for Easter. Umm...a "friend" (as D would call it) from law school/Philly is coming in this weekend. And no offense fellas but I mean, you know. You know.

4. Type your message then click "Publish Post" at the bottom of the screen. That's it.

If this is still too complicated for you, then just add a comment to an existing message by clicking "comments" at the end of the message.

One other thing, you need to identify yourself everytime you post a new message or comment b/c we're all sharing the same username.

In the beginning...

Welcome bitches. This blog is all ours and I think is our best solution for keeping up with each other. As most of you know, not everyone has access to email to check messages from one another. And whenever we're not involved in some fantasy league, communication tends to dry up faster than Wake's defense. I've emailed all of you the username and password for leaving new posts. If you didnt get it, just email me at jldii@hotmail.com or jldii2.0@gmail. It should be pretty simple to remember, though I'm sure Clapp will forget.
