Why I love Bill Self
Kansas will have the best recruiting class since the Fab Five next year. With the addition of Brandon Rush, we now have FOUR McDonald's All-Americans coming in. Hopefully they'll show it on the court next year.

Entourage
I really should get HBO to watch that show. Mandy Moore and Emmanuelle Chriqui!! All they need is Eliza Dushku to get the trifecta.

JD's Blitz
NFL preseason is in full swing. And judging by the Pittsburgh-style ass-kicking on Monday, it's gonna be a long season for the Eagles. And maybe Philly should look into putting 13 guys on the field for kickoff coverage. A punt return AND a kick return for TD in the same QUARTER!!
Jav, your girl Emmanuelle Chrique has been on Entourage the last 2 weeks and she is looking damn fine.
As for fantasy football, if you guys prefer to know the draft order before draft night Aug 29, that can be arranged. Otherwise, Yahoo will randomize the order 30 min before the draft begins.
Can someone get in touch with Cassidy to let him know about the league? Just in case, my buddy Joey who played with us two years is ready to go if necessary.
Early Madden 06 Review: that new precision QB feature sucks ass. Thankfully, you can turn it off.
Early Super Bowl prediction: Panthers vs Browns. Who does B choose????

2005 Bishop Football League
Welcome fellas, to the BFL 05 edition.
Our league is now set up. No big changes from last year, the points are the same as I can remember. The goal: no position (QB/RB etc) is more important than another. Check'em out, let me know if anything is unsatisfactory.
The details: Yahoo league # is 426909 and password is bishop (lower case)
The changes:
- this year will be the 1st keeper league. No need to desiginate who those players are but just keep in mind that next summer you will need to pick 2 players to keep for 06 and 1 player as an alternate.
- more teams we're expanding the league to 10 teams (Mike, you better join!); will need one more
- if we get 10 teams, the playoffs will be expanded to 6 teams. top 2 get byes; 3 thru 6 start play in week 14
- more money. the entry fee will be $25. $100 to the champ; $65 to 2nd; $25 to 3rd.
- In addition to playoff finish prize money, the highest scoring team each gets $5. That's another $65 up for grabs regardless of whether you even sniff the playoffs
- The draft is slated for 8 ET on Monday August 29th. I MUST have your money BEFORE the start of the draft. You can mail it to me (116 31st ave n, #104 nashville 37203) or paypal it to me ( joeydickson@comcast.net). No money = no play!
Any questions/complaints/whining, you know how to reach me.

Agree
Leave waivers the way they have always been. I'm in for a keeper league as well. But we need to get the rules squared away before the draft.
I could've told you both those movies were going to suck. Nothing about The Island looked remotely interesting, and SJ is very overrated. The first XXX was bad enough to know to stay away from any stupid sequels. When you choose shitty ass Riddick as your franchise instead of Fast/Furious and XXX, then you know those last two must really suck.
Dickson, when are we going to Vegas?

Representin the West Side
D - those videos were hilarious: My favorite line: "It's National Hug Day...and you gets no hugs." Priceless.
Bears - Dolphins tonight. Finally...
Re: Fantasy Football: I say leave waivers the way they are. Those of us who sit around and watch football every weekend and stay on top of the games ought to be rewarded more than a Monday morning newspaper checker. I vote for (partial) keeper as well.
Quick Movie Reviews:
The Island - starts great, then becomes like every other Michael Bay movie. Ewan McGregor's stock continues to fall. Scarlett Johannsen - got some big ass titties.
XXX: State of the Union: Ugggh. So much potential w/ Ice Cube on board and Sam Jackson returning. Apparently a 12 yr old wrote the script.

This Weekend's Links
Yeah, yeah. I'm slacking off. F*ck off.
Here's an hilarious look back at athletes who tried/failed in their music careers. Includes sound clips. The Deion Sanders "Must Be the Money" never gets old.
If you ever wondered how bands like Good Charlotte, Maroon 5 and Avril became popular, this article should explain everything. Really there is no other reason why these should get any air play.
I really thought that girl from Black Eyed Peas was kinda hot...then I saw these photos.
I have to admit that I spent about 2 hours last weekend watching old intros to 80s TV shows on this awesome website. I dare you to find another site with the opening to Thundercats, Silverhawk, GI Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles AND Voltron (to name a few).

Happier News
Well, in light of the demise of the Chappelle Show (Say it ain't so, Dave!) and the travesty which is the remake of Revenge of the Nerds, here is something to cheer everyone up...maybe you have all seen it, but I thought it was funny. Props to Chris Allen, Coach himself, for the links:

NO!!! Pt. 2
Time to face the facts: Dave Chappelle's hit Comedy Central series isn't coming back, says one of its stars. "`Chappelle's Show' is over, man. Done," comic Charlie Murphy told TV Guide. "It took me a long time to be able to say those words, but I can say it pretty easy now, because it's the truth."
Chappelle's sudden "spiritual retreat" to South Africa on the eve of his show's third season has left the series in limbo since May. About half of a new season had been filmed before Chappelle left, Murphy said.
"I'm disappointed it ended the way it did, but I'm not angry with anybody," he said. "`Chappelle's Show' was like the Tupac of TV shows. It came out, it got everybody's attention, it was a bright shining star, but it burned out and for some strange reason, it burned out quick."
Comedy Central has always said the door is open for Chappelle to return, spokeswoman Aileen Budow said Wednesday. Network chief Doug Herzog met with Chappelle on June 3, but that has been their last communication, she said. Murphy, the older brother of comic
Eddie Murphy, said his two seasons with Chappelle made him a star. "Now I can go out and do stand-up," he said. "I'm getting movie offers. It's off the hook. Me getting to the next level or whatever's going to happen is going to come from the next things I do, but `Chappelle's Show' served its purpose and I'll always be grateful."
NO!!!
I saw this (as I countdown the days until I am no longer a librarian) and it made the first grader inside me weep...evidently, Hollywood has gotten so desperate for a "built-in" audience that even the teen sex comedies of the 1980s are fairgame...yes, gentlemen, I bring you tidings of a remake next year of Revenge of the Nerds
