Now it's the pitches

I'm sick of England coming up with new excuses every day. Now the pitches are too dry and not being watered, so that's the reason they're not playing well. I love how their excuses, the heat, no the pitches, only affects them. Just admit you're overrated.

Agreed. The Brits looked all right in the last game but Beckham bailed them out with the kick. They reaped the rewards of a lucky bounce in their first game and Trinidad and Tobago held them scoreless for too long. I don't think they can or will play up at a higher level but with some key players out for Portugal who knows?

A lot of people, (including the Brazilian president) owe Ronaldo an apology. Fat or not, he looked good today.

The Swiss: boring to watch, but interesting they they were eliminated without allowing a single goal. I hate PK's.

My 2nd round picks sucked, but I was close on most of them. ENG won on a free kick but otherwise was held scoreless. SWISS "lost" in PKs without conceding a goal the ENTIRE tournament (I don't know if that' happened before). How bad is the Swiss offense if they can't score in 120 minutes and fail on their 3 PKs? ITA wins with a 90th minute PK; I was pretty damn close when I picked AUS in extra time. Finally, FRA just crushed Spain in the 2nd half. They looked much better than in the 1st round.

England is lucky Portugal won't have Deco and possibly C. Ronaldo. But Portugal still has good players like Nuno Gomes on the bench that can come in and do some damage.

Everybody owes Ronaldo an apology. Out of shape or not, he is still, along with Klose, the best striker of the tournament. That move on the Ghanan goalie today was pretty sweet.

I would pay to watch a rematch of Brasil-Ghana. Awesome game. And Ronaldo's move on the goalie was gangsta.
