My thoughts on the US team
First off, I stand by comments I made earlier regarding the "controversial" red cards and the US outplaying the Italians. The Italians are more talented and skilled man for man and display stellar defense. But on the night the US tied them 1-1 we were the better team and could have pulled off the upset had it not been for some calls. Just one man's opinion.
When will Bruce Arena realize that a 4-5-1 formation does not work for the US, especially when your down 2-1.

Cullen's Round 2 Pre-Dicksons
1. Germany over Sweden
2. Argentina over Mexico
3. Ukraine over the Swiss
4. Brazil over Ghana
5. Holland over Portugal
6. Italy over the Aussies
7. England over Ecuador
8. Spain over France
A 4-5-1 formation doesn't work for anybody in the World Cup. It rarely works at all unless you have a speedy striker who excels at counter-attacking, which McBride isn't, and midfielders who can push the ball up quickly, which requires a great first touch - something U.S. players (and all of CONCACAF) severely lack. Or you can build it up slowly and cross it to your target man, which Convey and Beasley struggled with the entire WC. Mexico, Costa Rica, and U.S. have all struggled in 3 main areas: first touches, crisp passing (i.e. passing it to the players strong foot or in the direction the player is facing), and crossing the ball.
Jav's predictions

8. SPA over FRA (FRA doesn't score)
